If you are looking for an authentic saloon...this is it! Located on the corner of Prospect & State in Fountain Square, this remarkably intact example of a wooden commercial building was built in 1885. Originally a grocery and residence, it became a saloon in 1896, and was continuously operated by the Lorber family for 75 years. The exterior is accented with simple features typical of the Italianate style: brackets, frieze band, and window hoods. The interior is much as it was in 1896, down to the original gaslight fixtures.
